[L-USA] new letterboxer

From: Karla B. Schroeder (kpschroe@erols.com) | Date: 1999-06-12 21:14:22 UTC-04:00
Greetings from your group's newest member! I live in Northern
Virginia and I'm curious to find out about boxes near me apart
from those shown on the web page's maps--are there more than the
one shown in SW Virginia and one in Maryland? I'm willing to
put out several in my neck of the woods, but who would visit them?

I bit of background--like many others, I first heard about your
sport in the Smithsonian article. I then poked around and found
your web page. I am an Orienteer (Quantico Orienteering
Club), Runner, and Volksmarcher, so Letterboxing should be a
natural for me!

Anyway, fill me in on what ya'all know about letterboxing in
my area, as well as in Missouri (which I visit frequently).
Thanks for any advice on getting started! -Paul Schroeder

Great Paul! You get boxes out, and we'll come and find them. Might even leave some behind as we find yours. My boys (Rexy & Letterboxing Cat [aka Wildcat) and I have really taken to the hobby. We're in SW PA, but love to go on little weekend excursions. I'm sure Randy the mapsurfer would probably be the first to find your boxes. So don't fear, they'll get traffic.
